City Removalist

We are super happy with our decision to get some help with moving from City Removalists. Sue was amazing in her regular, responsive and very clear communication, and the two guys who moved our stuff were incredible. They were friendly, patient, hard working and really good natured in doing exactly what we needed. Thank you!

The movers were on time polite and careful

Explained all the furniture and belongings needing to be moved and they assured me their truck size would be able to do the job. They only took about 1/3rd of the booked furniture and belongings and left the entire top of the truck empty, about 1 1/2 metres in height of a 7m long capacity even though we asked them to fill it to the top they refused. They should have done a second trip to get the majority due to their team not arranging a big enough truck but they only did one truck trip. They arrived nearly 2 hours late yet still insisted that they had to finish the job at the original end time. A worker got stung on the hand by something and no replacement worker was assigned so they left all our furniture and belongings in the back yard instead of putting it into the new house. I had to pay the original quoted price otherwise they wouldn't have dumped our furniture etc at our house at all. Were still struggling to get the rest of our furniture and belongings inside 2 weeks later.

Didn't turn up at scheduled time, after multiple call sent movers at 2pm in the afternoon, truck was too small to fit all our furniture, they didn't have tools to dismantle all the furniture in the home, refused to put our beds back together, finished at 12.30pm. I have moved many times the worst experience I have ever had.

Tried to increase the price of the job by $2200 after we had accepted their quote of $1650. They claimed the original quote was wrong and asked for more money after they had picked up the belongings. Poor communication, delivery was 24 hours late with no phone call to advise of delay.

Back up after original canceled

Arrived 5 hours late with a truck which was not as offered. Had to get a second truck. Had to extend settlement 1.5 hours. They wanted to charge twice what it should have cost.

Arrived 2.5hrs late. Labelled everything as "kitchen" making unpacking a logistic nightmare. Only half set up the bed. Didn't set up the display cabinets. Washing machine connected in reverse so hot=cold. And sent a truck (which was only half full) which was too big for the available loading dock and blamed me (and charged me!) to swap it all to a smaller truck for delivery. Be warned, their promises are not worth the sms they're written on.
