City Removalist

The guys were great, packed things carefully and well and negotiated tricky corners at the new house. However when the final bill came through it was significantly more than expected, given the quoted hourly rate. We called to clarify and were told we’d been quoted an incorrect rate however they would honour it. Given that I’d received a written quote and been quoted the same amount over the phone, I’m not sure quite how the mistake wasn’t picked up earlier and makes me wonder if it was a ploy for more $. The number of hours also got rounded up - 8:10am-5:30pm was charged as 10 hours but by that point we didn’t have the energy to argue that point for the sake of less than $100.

Unfortunately they didn't send a truck big enough, ordered a second truck, still not enough, had to do a third load. Damaged quite a lot of our furniture, cracked a tv, not happy at all with the service. Telling us insurance will only pay up if damage is reported within 24 hours. Who unpacks everything in 24 hours, surely a few weeks. We are still waiting on a final decision about compensation, will keep you updated.

I need a last minute move as my original Removalist bailed on me! City Removalists organised the truck and Removalists for me. The team came out and were so pleasant and helpful they got it done in no time!

Sue was fantastic to talk to about our move and organise it and the 2 men who moved us were so efficient at their job. Absolutely would recommend City Removalists for anyone moving house!

The removalist was very helpful they went over and beyond where they could they listened to the clients concerns and worked out a solution.

Guys that turned up were awesome. Unfortunately their office staff miss understood the mission by having truck turn up at 1pm for a 4 bed house move. But the job got done at the end of the day.

If I could leave 0 stars I would! They tried to overcharge me by $300. Gave me the option of paying less for cash... so dodgy!! They sent the wrong truck to start with.. the drivers spent a lot of time sitting around. They also didn't know how to take off a tv from a wall mount. They damaged an urn with ashes in it, we believe they threw it as it was upside down on the other side of the room. They left their rubbish on our new property ( pizza boxes ) wrapping plastic in the old place. Didn't bother wrapping our furniture fully ( I have photos to prove it ) plus because of this they left dings ( damaged ) our furniture. They spoke in their language ( Arabic ) alot. Complained when we argued about price and overcharging. When we called up to complain about the damage they said they would call us back but they never did! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!

There were many breakages including a bespoke, hand-crafted dresser in Malaysian teak. They denied there were any damages. I'd been told by their reception that I could use Afterpay. On the day, they said they didn't accept that, put me through to a manager who said the same thing and the removalists promptly left, leaving my entire kitchen and other furniture behind. They will not be receiving payment. They were not remivalists - they were demolition men.
